Sales Consultant | Sales Director (Broadcast Industry)

Job Description

Venator Broadcast is currently working with a global provider of media management and worldwide transmission services to fill the position of director of sales, based in Singapore.

Responsibilities:

The Sales consultant will be responsible for sales of permanent services to broadcasters, cable programmers, news agencies, corporations, and other television producers and organisations. The Director's responsibilities will include identifying and pursuing new customers as well as maintaining and growing existing accounts, drafting and negotiating contracts, and meeting revenue targets.

The Sales consultant will report to the Managing Director and based in Singapore. The primary nature of the job will entail frequent customer contact. The job will also require frequent contact with the Singapore based Operations and Engineering group as well as various personnel in other Business Units located at all over the world.

Activities:

* Business development and implement strategic sales plan including analysis of the video and broadcast market, industry trends, competition, and customer potential. This market segment targets are programmers and channel owners, including international broadcasters.
* Exploring new product line for revenue growth and increase profitability of the company.
* Exploring new markets for growth potential for existing service line.
* Achieving sales target and increase customer base by building and maintaining relationships with the appropriate decision makers on all levels within the customer organisation. Maintain regular customer visits and contact.
* Attend major industry related trade shows. Some travel may be required.
* Work with the Marketing department to develop and maintain a database for mailings and create specific Marketing Initiatives (mailings, etc.) aimed at the Asian Pay TV market.
* Initiate and lead customer contract negotiations and oversee all aspects of the internal contract approval process.
* Build a solid understanding of the company's organisation, infrastructure and products as well as its competitive advantages. Be prepared to present this information to new and existing customers in sales meetings and conferences.
* Ability to deal with other business units worldwide in different time zones and possess the tenacity and assertiveness to exhaust all avenues to enable fulfilling customer requirements.
* Oversee all aspects of each customer's involvement with the company, including contractual, technical and operational.
* Submit monthly Sales Activity updates and Account Reviews to supervisor in Singapore.

Skills and qualifications :

* College/University degree preferred.

Other qualifications include:

* Sales experience in the Asian video/broadcast and Pay TV industry.
* Good technical understanding of the elements of fiber, satellite transmission and broadcast
technologies
* Familiar with broadcast workflow and services is an advantage
* Spoken and written fluency in English is mandatory
* Able to work independently with little supervision
* Good presentation skills
* Well organised, self-starter, self-motivated and able to work independently
